Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

How do I book a taxi with Violin Tours and Travels?

Accepted Answer

You can book by calling or WhatsApp-ing us at +91 80151 57700, or by filling in the booking form on our website. We confirm every booking via phone call or WhatsApp message — a booking is only confirmed once you receive that confirmation from us.

Question 2

Are you available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We operate 24/7, including on public holidays and festival days. Early-morning airport pick-ups and late-night drops are handled routinely.

Question 3

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

For regular city and outstation trips, booking 2–4 hours in advance is usually sufficient. For airport transfers, we recommend booking at least 12 hours ahead. For multi-day tours or large group vehicles (Tempo Traveller, Urbania), booking 1–2 days in advance is advisable.

Question 4

Can I book a round trip?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer both one-way and round-trip bookings for all routes. Round-trip fares are calculated separately and are often more economical for same-day return journeys. Please mention "round trip" when booking so we can quote accordingly.

Question 5

Do you accept last-minute bookings?

Accepted Answer

We do our best to accommodate last-minute requests depending on vehicle and driver availability. Call us directly at +91 80151 57700 for the fastest response.

Question 6

How are taxi fares calculated?

Accepted Answer

Fares are calculated based on total kilometres travelled from Madurai garage to Madurai garage (including pick-up and drop). Toll charges, parking fees, inter-state permits, and hill-area surcharges are charged extra as applicable. Please visit our Tariff page for the current per-km rates.

Question 7

Are there any hidden charges?

Accepted Answer

No hidden charges. We quote the full fare upfront, including driver allowance for most routes. Any applicable extras — tolls, parking, hill permits, overnight driver allowance — are disclosed at the time of booking.

Question 8

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash payment to the driver at the end of the trip, and UPI / bank transfer as agreed at the time of booking. We do not currently accept credit or debit cards in the vehicle.

Question 9

Do fares include toll and parking charges?

Accepted Answer

No. Toll charges, parking fees, and inter-state or hill-area permits are charged extra and are paid directly by the passenger. These amounts are not included in the base fare.

Question 10

Is there a waiting charge?

Accepted Answer

A waiting charge applies if the driver has to wait beyond the agreed pick-up time. The rate is ₹100–₹150 per hour depending on the vehicle type. This will be communicated at the time of booking.

Question 11

What types of vehicles do you have?

Accepted Answer

Our fleet includes Sedans (Toyota Etios, Maruti Dzire — 4 passengers), SUVs (Ertiga, Innova — 6–7 passengers), Tempo Travellers (12 seats), and Force Urbania (12–17 seats). All vehicles are well-maintained, air-conditioned, and regularly serviced.
